NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC-LINDBLAD EXPEDITIONS COMPLETES 2028-29 DEPLOYMENT WITH NEW ITINERARIES AND MORE WAYS TO EXPLORE
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Oct. 29, 2026
New voyages and extended itineraries bring more ways to explore the Galápagos, Costa Rica and Panama, the Amazon, Baja California, Egypt and Peru
NEW YORK, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions today announced the final collection of voyages in its 2028–29 deployment, introducing new itineraries, extended journeys and more opportunities to explore aboard its expedition fleet and a selection of intimate chartered vessels.
Building on the first collection of 2028–29 voyages announced in August, the newly released itineraries expand exploration in beloved destinations including the Galápagos, Baja California and the Amazon, introduce a new Costa Rica and Panama expedition, and offer immersive journeys through Egypt and Peru. Across the collection, experienced Expedition Leaders, naturalists, historians, scientists, photographers and National Geographic Expedition Experts bring their deep knowledge of each destination to every journey.
“Every destination has its own rhythm, and our job is to design the voyage in concert with it,” said Trey Byus, Chief Expedition Officer, Lindblad Expeditions. “We’re constantly looking for ways to give guests more depth, more access and more opportunities to explore actively. The 2028–29 deployment reflects that approach, with new combinations, extended itineraries and intimate vessels that allow guests to experience these places in ways larger ships simply cannot. That might mean spending more time in the Galápagos, exploring the Amazon by skiff and kayak, or seamlessly connecting Costa Rica and Panama in one continuous expedition.”
Highlights of the 2028–29 season include:
- Galápagos: Eight itineraries range from seven to 17 days aboard four distinct ships: National Geographic Endeavour II, National Geographic Islander II, National Geographic Gemini, and National Geographic Delfina. Extended back-to-back packaged sailings through the destination offer more time to explore the archipelago’s varied islands and ecosystems, while veteran naturalists and expedition teams bring decades of firsthand experience to the islands.
- Peru and Galápagos: In 2029, guests can connect the cultural treasures of Peru with the wildlife and landscapes of the Galápagos in one continuous land-and-sea journey on the Peru and Galápagos Escape itinerary. Guests explore Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu with expert historians and local guides before continuing to the Galápagos for active exploration, wildlife encounters and snorkeling alongside veteran naturalists.
- Costa Rica and Panama: A new 15-day itinerary connects Costa Rica’s Pacific wilderness and Guanacaste highlands with Panama’s rainforests, Pearl Islands and Canal, while an expanded eight-day Guanacaste itinerary offers more time to explore the region’s landscapes, wildlife and culture. Guests can experience the region by Zodiac, kayak and paddleboard, as well as by snorkeling and exploring on foot, with more time on Gatún Lake and access to Barro Colorado Island aboard National Geographic Venture.
- Amazon: From November 2028 through October 2029, Upper Amazon: A River Expedition explores the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve aboard Delfin II and Delfin III. Guests venture by skiff, kayak and on foot in search of pink river dolphins, primates, macaws, sloths and caimans, while visits with Ribereño communities offer insight into locally led initiatives supported through Minga Peru.
- Baja California: Aboard National Geographic Quest, Baja California Discovery: Exploring Mexico’s Gulf of California explores the region’s interconnected desert-and-sea ecosystem, while Baja California: Among the Great Whales focuses on seasonal encounters with gray whales in the lagoons. Baja California Holiday: A Living Sea and Desert Isles offers a festive-season departure for those looking to get away for the holidays.
- Egypt: The Passage Through Egypt Aboard Oberoi Philae itinerary connects Cairo to Abu Simbel aboard the 44-guest Oberoi Philae. Dedicated Egyptologists and Certified Photo Instructors provide context from the Pyramids and Sphinx to lesser-visited sites including Saqqara, Dendera and Kom Ombo, offering a deeper look at 5,000 years of Egyptian history.
The complete 2028–29 deployment builds on the legacy of National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions, pairing intimate ships with the expertise, flexibility and access that define expedition travel. Each purpose-built vessel offers a stylish and distinct way to experience the world, while experienced expedition teams adapt each journey to the conditions, wildlife and discoveries of the day. The 2028–29 collection offers travelers more ways to go further, explore where it matters and experience each destination with those who know it best.
