Water Heater Donation Helps Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue Build Out New Lafayette Facility

Lafayette, CA – Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning has announced an in-kind donation to Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on saving and rehabilitating vulnerable dogs throughout the Bay Area. The company donated and installed a 40-gallon electric water heater at the rescue’s facility, providing infrastructure that supports greater operational independence and improved animal care.
The water heater will supply hot water to a new in-house laundry facility and a dog washing station – both essential for maintaining hygiene, sanitation, and proper grooming standards for animals in the rescue’s care. These additions are expected to support the health and wellbeing of the dogs while reducing recurring operational expenses for the organization.
Hugs for Harry relocated to a new facility in Lafayette, California, in January 2026. Although the move offered additional space to accommodate growing rescue efforts, it introduced a significant list of infrastructure needs. Access to hot water and functional plumbing were among the most pressing requirements, but financial limitations had stalled progress until Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning offered its support.
