The Mother of Peace sends her love by putting a message of peace and care for others into action.

NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Family Federation for World Peace and Unification volunteers across North America marked the International Day of Peace by serving their communities in honor of the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han.

In Los Angeles, many local residents gathered for a neighborhood street cleanup and ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new community basketball court at Plain Truth Mission Family Church. Wearing Faith Freedom Peace shirts, participants cleared surrounding streets of trash. Community activist “Sweet Alice” Harris joined the gathering in support. The court, scheduled for completion in November, will be dedicated in honor of the Mother of Peace.

In Richmond, British Columbia, a few dozen volunteers collected roughly 10 bags of trash near the Bridgeport SkyTrain Station with support from the city’s Partners for Beautification initiative.

“Peace can begin through simple, practical acts of service,” said Family Federation volunteer Chong Hwa CostaAzevedo. “Even smaller activities can become meaningful steps toward peace when people come together and care for their community.”

In Vancouver, Canada, members of different generations joined a “Mother of Peace Loves You” cleanup, spending an hour clearing litter from public spaces and filling several large garbage bags.

Across Florida, members took on two different projects. Tampa Family Church joined the Hillsborough River Coastal Riverwalk Cleanup, organized by Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk, beautifying the waterfront while building connections with local volunteers. In South Florida, Family Church volunteers partnered with Gem Doral to prepare care packages for earthquake relief in Colombia and Venezuela.

In Dallas, Texas, participants collected several bags of trash along a freeway service road near the church. The group is now exploring adopting the roadway through the Keep Irving Beautiful program, potentially turning the cleanup into an ongoing commitment.

Together, the projects commemorated the International Day of Peace through tangible acts of care—from cleaner neighborhoods to humanitarian relief. Through their service, Family Federation members honored the Mother of Peace and her call to build a more peaceful world.
