Avere Cosmetics’ custom formula, developed over nearly two years with a U.S. chemist, is now available online and through med spas
PITTSBURGH, PA, UNITED STATES, October 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Avere Cosmetics, a new skincare company founded by Pittsburgh nurse injector Alyssa Luciano, RN, has released its first product, Post Injection Gloss, a lip balm developed for people who have recently had lip filler. It is the first consumer product from the group of Pittsburgh businesses that includes the medical spa Avere Beauty, the nail studio Maniküre and Aura Hair Studio.
Lip filler is a large and growing part of aesthetic medicine. Hyaluronic acid fillers, the category that includes most lip fillers, made up about 30% of minimally invasive cosmetic procedures performed in 2025, second only to neuromodulators, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Luciano, who has worked as an aesthetic injector for about seven years and has treated roughly 10,000 patients, said most of the people she treats leave their appointment without a lip product made for the days after treatment and use whatever balm they already own.
“Every lip appointment ends with the same question: what can I put on my lips now?” said Luciano. “For years I didn’t have a product made for that moment. I wanted something I could recommend with confidence, built around the questions patients actually ask me after treatment.”
Luciano spent nearly two years developing the formula with a chemist in the United States. The company said the formula was developed for Avere rather than adapted from a manufacturer’s existing catalog, which allows it to control production and add shades to the line. The product is made in the USA and distributed from Pittsburgh. It comes in a 15 mL squeeze tube with an angled applicator tip and launches in a clear shade. A tinted Mauve shade is in development.
Avere Cosmetics classifies Post Injection Gloss as a cosmetic. The company states that it is not intended to treat swelling, bruising or any condition following an injectable procedure, and it advises patients to follow the aftercare instructions given by their own provider.
The company’s distribution plan centers on the practices where lip treatments are performed rather than general retail. Avere Cosmetics is opening wholesale accounts for injectors, medical spas and aesthetic practices, and it is building a stockist map on its website. The map will let consumers find a participating practice near them or request that their own injector carry the product, after which Avere Cosmetics will contact that practice. Display units for participating practices are planned.
“Patients trust the person who treated them more than they trust an ad,” said Frank Udavcak, chief operating officer, who leads Avere Cosmetics. “Selling through injectors, and giving patients a way to ask for the product at their own practice, keeps the recommendation with the provider. The stockist map is how we take a Pittsburgh product to practices in other cities without opening stores.”
The launch follows a period of expansion for the Avere group. Avere Beauty now operates four offices in the Pittsburgh region, in Lawrenceville, Murrysville, Cranberry and Fox Chapel, with clinical oversight from Medical Director Jason Luciano, MD, MBA. Aura Hair Studio opened on Butler Street in Lawrenceville in October 2026, and Maniküre operates studios in Lawrenceville and Blawnox.
